- Normally I'm not prone to religious debates, but I feel compelled to say that if there was anyone who's ever actually -READ- the Bible (...regardless of edited version...) that they would most likely feel the same way...which promptly explains why there are so few who actually despise the rampant amount of hypocracy which exists in today's society (...and that's only regarding the current existing political and religious leaders...).
- I see biblical scripture taken out of context on a daily basis and employed to support one atrocity after another which has lead me to ponder whether or not there were, in all actuality, -ANY- 'Christians' in existance whatsoever. My contemplations were derived from my knowing of another (...whose name I elect to keep private...) who saught to commence forthwith 'The Great Commission'.
- I was lead to believe the said 'commission' was all that was expected to be 'a Christian' - Matthew 28:19...
"Therefore go an make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit..."- Some say that this is all that there is to know in order to be considered 'a Christian' and -THAT- is a flat-out lie - Matthew 28:20...
"...and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you..."- Oops, there's more? Yes, alas...there is more to 'Christianity' then trying to make disciples - you're supposed to obey 'the Commandments' and what, exactly, are these 'commandments'? Matthew 22:37...
"...Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind..."- ...-AND- (...yes, there is more...) Matthew 22:39...
"...Love your neighbor as yourself."- Compiled together, 'The Great Commission' encapsulates 'The Greatest Commandment', thus, the entirity of the Bible -AND- 'the commission' expected of -ALL CHRISTIANS- goes as follows...
"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you: Love the Lord your God with all of your heart and all of your soul and all of your mind; and Love your neighbor as yourself."- That's it, the Bible in abridged form - 'Christianity for Dummies', simple enough for anyone to understand...
"Christianity is a great idea...when are they going to start putting it into practice?" - Jacque Fresco, Founder of The Venus Project.- I have to agree...
