- Exceptionally complex and/or thought-provoking subject matter will, of course, recieve it's own inherent blog entry...the individual submitting the topic will be acknowledged regarding thusly. Again, my most sincere well-wishes unto those who have saught to inquire the issues at hand with a sincere desire to contemplate alternative resolutions...even if said resolutions come from an independent source.

What is your opinion regarding the Singularity of man and machine being humanity's future as forecast by Ray Kurzweil?

ReplyDelete- Beleive me, I've seen quite a bit of this mentallity floating around the internet. I'll have to do some research on Ray Kurzweil...but what I've heard about the most is a man by the name of Jacque Fresco and a different social paradigm entitled 'The Zeitgeist Movement'. This is definitely worth it's own entry in order to provide a sufficent answer.

Huzzah! I must say I applaud you for being so in-step with your readers; I've dealt with far too many (to save the keyboard the task of such an astronomical number) bloggers that prefer to stumble about ignoring their audience.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I haven't heard much of this "Zeitgeist Movement" you write of. If you're still looking for some additional reading on the "Singularity Movement", you might be able to find an online article by Time Magazine; they had an excellent piece a month or so back describing Kurzweil's concept of the future.
I'm looking forward to what you have to say on the matter!

ReplyDelete- For me, this blog isn't about my views and my opinions because if that were the case...I could easily just look in a mirror and talk to myself, saving all sorts of time and effort. That's not what this blog is about though...
- We are a people, a race, a species that covers the globe North to South, East to West and inasmuch as I inhabit only a small part of this wonderous sphere...I would do myself little credit to append ignorance the voice of others...
- Our greatest achievements have been made not by isolation and privatizing, but sharing that which we all inherently possess - our own thoughts and minds. I believe it is wise to continue such endeavors...hence, my blog. :)
