Folks...,
- I'm ashamed...much like all that has transpired as of late, I feel like the tortoise in the race against the hare. Fortunately, those who know the story know how it ends...and at my steady pace that I seek to proceed - I believe this is a race that can be one. Through preserverance, dedication and sound reasoning - I have found out that we nearly had socialistic medicine dumped on our heads. Now, before we go too far into the 'mud-slinging' arena...I want it to be know that I am not entirely against the idea of 'socialized medicine'. My reason being, unfortunately, is steeped in a utopian society that the current platform simply does not support. In looking into the issue further...I'm feeling more and more opposed to the idea, just like I sincerely regret the passing of the "Stimulus Bill" which stimulated nothing, but the banks which helped hundreds of thousands of tax-paying citizens into the erroneous debts thier into now...
- National Heath Care
- Certainly, it looks nice...and the precepts behind it sound rather grand, after all...if you paid "a nominal fee" to the Federal Government and were provided health care benefits (regardless of the ailment) - why not? Well, for starters...what about those who DON'T pay? It's been already established that NOT paying, is a fineable and/or criminal offense...O.o Really?...I thought this was about Health Care...not incarceration. Next, it's all about the doctors whom the Federal Goverment provide...and if these "doctors" are ANYTHING like the current members of Congress (save for a few) then I can only imagine the death toll reaching biblical proportions with no ability to seek legal duress (since they will be "federally sponsored health care professonals"...and you can't sue the government). Last, but not least, the amount unto which will be required to pay FOR the enforced health care...we had to pass the 27th Amendment just to stop Congressmen from giving themselves raises - would we have to enforce yet ANOTHER Amendment just to prevent the Federal Government from charging outrageous fees for substandard care?
- The rebuttals FOR federal health care, of course, provide a compromise regarding the ability to CHOOSE between either Federal or State provided medical health care coverage (i.e. - if you didn't prefer what the government offered, you had the choice of your own doctors in your own state...as long as you had health care coverage). Of course, this still leaves the individuals who can't afford to pay either in a rather nasty spot...fortunately for them, they'll recieve the 'standard medical health care' ALL individuals recieve - in prison (...which is sufficient to say...little to none at all - how's THAT for Federal Health Care for ya?). I'm still rather unsettled by the idea that the Federal Government feels the NEED to get involved with Health Care. The LAST time they got involved was regarding attempting to provide a vaccine for the N1H1 (a.k.a. - "The Swin Flu") virus...that amazing little 'pandemic' was certain to end all life as we knew it. In truth, if anything was going to kill anyone - it was that vaccine they concocted...don't take my word for it, look up the N1H1 vaccine and prepare to be amazed.
- So what's MY take on it? Pffft...quite simple, isn't it my choice to decide whether or not I seek help if I'm sick? Regardless of insurance company involvements, HMO's and all that other fun stuff I'm certain some citizens of the United States have had a REAL THRILL dealing with...at least it's still a choice (somewhat) regarding where we acquire our Health Care (...and for some, it's the Emergency Room, but I digress). When something as unwieldy as the Federal Government becomes involved, you're talking about a world of hurt right there...(and that's even BEFORE you get treated, assuming they're even ABLE to treat you - let's not talk about the how long the wait would take...). Needless to say, in regarding the essence of reason alone...the Federal Government is far too ponderous and ungainly to address an issue as important as Health Care and regarding all the personal information required in order to get treated - I see this as a violation of privacy, then a benign offering to aid the citizenry of the United States. I'm going to say 'NO' to Federal Health Care...it's not needed, besides...I rarely (if ever) pay for health insurance (since I'm rarely one to bother going to the hospital) and I CERTAINLY don't want to get arrested...because I'm healthy and miserly.
- Final point regarding this issue, the 10th Amendment:
"Reserves to the states respectively, or to the people, any powers the Constitution did not delegate to the United States, nor prohibit the states from exercising".
- Under all the prescribed 27 Amendments (along with the entirity of the Constitution itself) there is nothing which remotely addresses the Federal Government getting involved with personal health care (except in the Preamble, "...promote general Welfare...", but I digress). I really don't see where the Federal Government can enforce generalized Health Care upon the citizenry of the United States. If this was a nominal enough issue - each State could take into account this issue and proceed accordingly. I think it goes beyond a shadow of a doubt that a few States are seriously against Federal sponsored health care (...such as Virginia amongst others totalling 30). If those States who SUPPORT some form of blanket health care coverage, then each independent State can seek to ordain a similiar Health Care Bill like the one the Federal Government is seeking to provide. Since the Federal Government is attempting to enforce Health Care upon ALL States without Constitutional support in that matter, makes the 10th Amendment look erroneous at best (...unless, of course, Congress votes it through - now sounds like a good time to REALLY get to know your Congressman).
- Okay, weight in folks...you're thought? Federal Health Care...yea or nay?

A few points to consider...,
ReplyDelete- Regarding the reworking of the National Health Care Bill - here's a few more points to throw into the mix regarding thusly:
1) Regarding illegal, unnaturalized immigrants - will they be able to acquire National Health Care? If not, will this even deny them Emergency Health Care?
2) Regarding payment of National Health Care, will it be a flat fee or vary in accordance to the family (as with Income Tax)? Will an individual have to pay just as much as a family of six?
3) Regarding unemployed citizens, are they denied National Health Care or are they allowed a set allotted amount of Health Care as per Social Security? Once this runs out, are they denied Health Care?
4) Regarding Health Insurance Agencies - how will this affect said agencies? Will this abolish them?...are they in any way, shape or form involved with the inception of this Bill?
5) Regarding Pharmaceutical Companies - will they be regarded as a branch of the Department of Health and Human Services? Will the FDA be allowed to continue screening prescription drugs?
6) Regarding Doctors in general - will they be regarded as members of the Department of Health and Human Services? How will this impact the medical ethic of 'Patient-Doctor relationship'? Is the 4th Amendment no longer valid in regarding Health Care or will patience be granted the right to 'Plead the Fifth' everytime they go for a medical checkup and would lying to a Doctor be regarded as a Federal Offense?
7) How far will National Health Care cover? Will Optomotrists be regarded? What about Message Therapists? What about other branches of Health Care such as Psychologists? Are all these Health Care divisions covered under National Health Care and are all these Health Care Professionals now regarded as Government Sponsored Agencies?
8) In the event that a tax-paying citizen is injured/further harmed due to malpractice - will the bereaved be denied/no longer allowed to seek legal duress regarding these matters? If any/all Doctors are considered 'federally sponsored', will this remove the patient's right to seek legal action against willful or negligent harm inflicted upon them by said practitioners?
- Like I said...just a few points - a few...SERIOUS points. The last one being:
- If a law has been passed, but is then removed from the statute book of laws - is it not required to be passed through Congress once more in order to be reenacted into a law?
- Know your rights, citizens of the this Great Nation - Know...Your...RIGHTS.

From what I've managed to gather...,
ReplyDelete- The National Health Care Bill is paid via like Medicare - a flat sum that is taken out of your paycheck per pay-period. For those who do NOT have this sum extracted out of thier regular paycheck, then the sum is taken out of your Income Tax Return (or levied agsinst you as a fee, just like if you owed taxes). Of course, this causes one to wonder what happens if you do not pay the money owed...
- ...well, that means it's jail time for you, bucko - just like those who are arrested by the IRS for tax-evasion. You get incarcerated for how much money you owe for the 'National Health Care' you either used, or did not use AND (as if this were some kind of bonus) YOU get National Health Care...in PRISON (whether YOU want it...or not).
- Isn't that grand?...okay, can someone repeal this stupid law already? I'm really not in the mood to put up with something this stupid. Stop giving free health care to illegal immigrants...make them pay for health care just like EVERYBODY ELSE and you'll see the prices of health care drop...
- Honestly, this is a 'no-brainer'.
