Patriot's Day

I had a discussion with another regarding a foriegn nation...,

 - In considering foriegn nations, I generally append George Washington's view regarding said matters. Afterall, it was a well-reasoned consideration...at what point and time did the affairs of a foriegn nation even remotely become the concern of America and it's Citizenry? Certainly, trade and commerce were regarded...but to become intertwined with foriegn politics (especially thier wars) were, are and always should be NOT the concern of America and Our Interests. For a true, indepth understanding...I will be including a link to George Washington, America's First President's, Farewell Address as a link unto which I (myself, singular) believe that it is REQUIRED READING by ALL Citizens of the United States for therein lies the resolution of a great many troubles which currently exist within Our Great Nation.
 - I know it is an atrocity to regard what the Leaders of China are doing to thier own Citizens, but it is unto the Citizens of China whom must seek restitution for said atrocties. Please do not regard me as callous, but such ideologies such as Freedom of Speech MUST be actualized by it's Citizenry for no outside influence will make it so. One simply cannot encourage or lead another to Freedom if they do not, inherent in themselves, desire it...for wence proffered, will reject it and seek once more the fallacious beliefs in the succoring comforts and safety of thier own self-made slavery.

 - Whatever the reasoning behind China's current state, you will find most assuredly a 'good reason' behind it. Be it 'nationalism', 'communism', 'fanaticism' or just plain 'totalitarianism' - ANYONE seeking to append that which they cannot already accede themselves do not do so because they are forced...they do this because they truely do not have within themselves, the desire to be Free. We are seeing this phenomenon occuring in America...
 - If you are provided CONSTANT RELIABLE PROOF that the TSA is ENTIRELY INCAPABLE of preventing 'the emminent hostile takeover of an airborne vessel' by innumerous accounts of individuals whom have ALREADY BYPASSED TSA 'Security Checkpoints' with invariable implements that, should they be employed, would be MORE THEN CAPABLE of performing the task neccessary to commence forthwith said hostile activity...then what possible logical reason could be appended to support the TSA, the inviolations of the Constitution's 4th Amendment, the 'mandatory nude body scans and/or direct physical violations'? Answer:...

 - ...none.

 - If there are over 100,000 UNCHARTED AIRCRAFT within America alone that the FAA is NOT AWARE OF nor CAPABLE OF TRACKING DOWN and over 300,000 UNCHARTED AIRCRAFT that the FAA is UNAWARE OF internationally then is there an actual threat of 'terroristic attacks via the acquisition of airborne vessels'? Answer:...

 - ...over the past 10 years...the answer is no.

 - Is it due to the actions of the Government that has prevented 'terrorists' from once again striking America by way of regarding the former two points. Answer:...

 - ...no.

 - America is not so unlike China...it is heading that direction for some reason, the Elected Public Officials have been insisting that we be TERRORIZED and cowed into proffering the Our Rights upon THIER feet and append THIER decisions regarding that which they simply cannot provide - Security. Through this act, we have been more then willing to sacrifice that which the Constitution itself, despite the fact that it is only a document states that We, The People, simply cannot sever ourselves from:...

 - ...Personal Accountability and Responsibility for our own actions.

 - We, The People...it's a beautiful phrase...it means each and every single one of us - all of us are responsible, all of us are accountable for Our Nation...every single one of us. Isn't that the most empowering, PATRIOTIC thing you've ever heard...and it's been the same today as it's been back in the year 1776 when Our Founding Fathers first concieved the Declaration of Independence...we were going to be, ARE going to be Free.

 - Yes, I know...9/11 was a sad day in American History, but I've turned from the tragedy, I no longer mourn it...because I recall one particular incident that is NOT highly regarded and I think, personally, that it should be the ONLY thing regarded:...

 - ...United Airlines Flight 93.

 - I honour Flight 93 and the American Citizens who appended Patriotism, those whom embraced FREEDOM -AND- by THIER ACTIONS...defeated those misguided terrorists on thier own ground for any one of Reason knows that an empty field in Stonycreek Township, near Shanksville, in Somerset County, Pennsylvania was NOT thier target. Terrorism failed Flight 93, the 'terrorists' lost and that is exactly the mindset We, The People, need in America right now.
 - 'I' (myself, singular) want 9/11 to be no longer addressed as '9/11'...I want it to be referred to as 'Patriot's Day'. I will not allow myself to mourn the acts of individuals who so willingly gave thier lives so that others may live...I will not weep for them, I will give them the honours they are due. I will not concede to the fallacious belief that 'terrorism won' because in the Face of Bravery, in the Face of True PATRIOTISM...'terrorism' failed.
 - I will not append 'terrorism' without this Great Nation NOR WITHIN THIS GREAT NATION. I will fight it, for if I ever seek to truely Honour those passengers of Flight 93, then I must fight it...for I am a Patriot, and I do not fear for my Great Nation and the Sacred Blessings of Lady Liberty, which is bestowed upon all who would call themselves an American Citizen, via the United States Constitution and the Rights provided therein.

 - How do you defeat 'terrorism'?...by not being afraid.

"...For Amber Waves Of Grain..."

Do Congressmen READ the Constitution?...,

 - I remember when I was young, my parents had a chicken coop and we always had eggs...never ran out of eggs. Those chickens laid so many that we could actually package a few dozen and sell them dirt cheap, heck...even give them away to neighbors. Mr. Hyde was our neighbor for a time, he had a garden...he really had a green thumb, grew the biggest produce you ever saw - he had a passion for gardening, ecked out a meager living through what his garden yielded. Didn't need much else...who would? Food is a basic necessity of LIFE, everyone has to eat...it's a requirement. You'd think some think PRECIOUS, this VITAL to the American Citizen that the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION would protect such a right, yes? Let's see what the Constitution says about Property, shall we? The 4th Amendment of the Bill of Rights of the United states Constitution states:

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
 - I don't know about you folks, but that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside...the Constitution was derived to ENSURE that which was regarded as personal and owned as PRIVATE and unalienable unless:

  1. Probable Cause was established, and...,
  2. Supported by Oath or affirmation thereof regarding place searched and persons/things seized.
 - Once these two premises are established (...they MUST be established in order to proceed) then and ONLY then can a Warrant be issued regarding the proper course of action regarding thusly. One of the key ingredients of this Right is the terminology regarding the word 'unreasonable'...what exactly is unreasonable? In order to understand the terminology used, we have to look upon the root word:
Reason: the cause or source of an event or action.
 - Okay, that's relatively easy to understand...something unreasonable is without cause or source regarding and action or event. Also considered inexplicable, fantastical, imperical and tyrannical. This is what the Constitution was establishing - an individual's person, thier rights and thier properties could not be arbitrarily eleviated WITHOUT due process of law as provided by the very NEXT Amendment in the Bill of Rights in the United States Constitution called the Fifth Amendment:
"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."
 - This means that YOU can't be denied the Right to do ANYTHING unless brought before a jury of your peers before a Court of LAW when there is clear and present danger as ordained via probable cause that is supported by oath or affirmation providing the Warrant NEEDED to excise action regarding thereof. You simply cannot be denied this and NO LAW can be ordained to SUPPORT this unless the Constitution is AMENDED denying this...which essentially means the ordainment of an Unconstitutional Law and/or blatant violation to the Constitution itself (...please see Prohibition for more details). So...what's all this getting to?...real simple folks:
The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act is a bill recently passed by the US House of Representatives and introduced into the US Senate March 3, 2009. The bill expands the power of the FDA, specifically the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), to regulate all foods sold, distributed, or imported within the US.
 - Fellow countrymen, I'm not going to sugar coat this bill in any way, shape or form. I'm going to tell you EXACTLY what this bill is...what it does...and how it DENIES YOU YOUR RIGHTS. This so-called 'bill' is the first of many attempts to turn America, from a Republic to a Tyranny.
"The HHS will require registration and payment of a fee by any "person (excluding farms and restaurants) who manufactures, processes, packs, distributes, receives, holds, or imports an article of food." Individuals who partake in food handling without official registration are subject to a maximum 10 year prison sentence. Registration requires each facility which produces or handles food to maintain records relating to food safety.
The bill contains an exception for food grown and consumed at private residences. As of the current writing, the bill does not contain an exception for small farmers if in the course of their operations they pack or distribute their produce. According to the text of the law all food sold at local farmers' markets, for example, would be subject to the certification requirements."
 - This bill, like so many more that Congress has attempted to sneak past the American populous, is a discriminatory bill which targets a select group - in this case, the small town farmer. Farms are not subject to this bill, nor are restaurants (where I think the FDA needs to be MOST involved in, but I digress) and neither are individuals growing food in the private sector for thier own benifit. You just can't distribute said commodities...period, unless you pay for the registration fee which DOES affect the private sector because YOU can't give the extra eggs your chickens laid to your neighbor as a goodwill gift. Nope, not allowed - personal use only, hate your neighbor...it's good for you - watch your neighbor starve, it's the 'American Way'.
 - Why, oh why, did this insipid piece of legislative ROT get passed...the 'Food Safety' issue derived from CORPORATIONS that DIDN'T maintain and uphold proper health codes - NOT the residential small-time farmer! When was the last time ANYONE got sick from buying something from the rural Farmer's Market?! Ummm...NEVER?! C'mon! This is just about as blatant as you can get for CORPORATE AMERICA to keep the private/small-time business entepreuner from getting a foothold in the American market. This is rediculous, discriminatory and ultimately moronic. The I.Q. really falls through the floor where it clearly states that food/commodities can be acquired in the private sector, but ONLY for private consumption. Talk about trying to segregate America - screw you're neighbor, there's a bill in place that's FORCING YOU to not give a damn. How's THAT for Patriotism, eh?
 - Hey, Congress...I got an idea, how does THIS sound? Everyone in America...start growing your own personal garden AND, on a daily basis, swap with your neighbor various items grown so you can have a VARIETY of things to choose and cook with! That sounds awefully benign and PATRIOTIC to me...it establishes goodwill and appreciation for your neighbor. As a matter of fact, I'd advise ALL AMERICANS to check up on the location from which THEIR commodities are purchased and ONLY BUY AMERICAN. That way, we can avoid obvious problems like the FDA not being able to moderate the growth/production of foreign commodities! We'll be sparing the FDA a lot of time and effort! Isn't this a nice idea, Congress? You see, Americans can be Patriotic WITHOUT YOUR HELP!
Contact your Congressman and have them to repeal Senate Bill 510 - The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act. You might want to add requesting them to STOP WASTING AMERICAN TAX DOLLARS BY MAKING STUPID BILLS!!!

"Know Your Enemy..."

I wanted more time to address this...,

 - Unfortunately, I was unwise in this belief and things have been done that have caused an irreversible impact upon Our Nation. I know, right now, in speaking about this...I'm going to be a rather unpopular individual - I regret that such is the case, but I cannot deny that which is factual and true. For starters, let us discuss...

The Federal Reserve

The Federal Reserve System (also known as the Federal Reserve, and informally as The Fed) is the central banking system of the United States. It was created in 1913 with the enactment of the Federal Reserve Act, and was largely a response to a series of financial panics, particularly a severe panic in 1907.

 - Okay, that's what the Federal Reserve is...it's a bank, that's it. It's not an intrinsic part of the United States Government...okay, so what's the Federal Reserve Act?

The Federal Reserve Act (enacted December 23, 1913), is the Act of Congress that created the Federal Reserve System, the central banking system of the United States of America, and granted it the legal authority to issue legal tender. The Act was signed into law by President Woodrow Wilson.

 - Alright, so we have an independent corporation granted authority provided by CONGRESS to issue legal tender - OUR AMERICAN DOLLAR. Okay, I think this pretty much sums up the problem...and it's resolution regarding what's happening in America today...

‎ - 600 BILLION Dollars were printed by the Federal Reserve...the Stock Market spiked making a few in the know freakin' millions and now, as the Stock Market makes the obvious spike downwards due to the false influx of currency derived by the Federal Reserve...we now have our American Dollar losing value. ENOUGH! KNOW YOUR ENEMY...and that is THE FEDERAL RESERVE!

 I'm past concern for personal safety - I know I must expose the TRUTH regarding the cascading flaws afflicting America today...it's as simple as the latin phrase from a dead culture millenia ago...

- RADIX MALLORUM EST CUPIDITAS - GREED IS THE ROOT OF EVIL.

- America is being drug down a fiscal spiral of corruption and devaluation as a certain, small percentage REAPS the rewards by RUINING those underneath them. America, this must end. My proposed resolution is this:

- SHUT DOWN AND CEASE ANY AND ALL FURTHER TRANSACTIONS AND/OR ACTIVITY RESOLVED BY THE FEDERAL RESERVE - PERIOD.

- I believe that a FULL FEDERAL INVESTIGATION needs launched by Our Government regarding the transactions behind the Federal Reserve. We, the People, have the RIGHT to know. Contact your Senators, let's kick this in motion, America. How long do you want the value of the dollar YOU worked so hard to attain...to slowly dwindle down to the value of the Mexican PESO! Enough's ENOUGH!

Sorry about the lack of consistancy...

Howdy folks...,

 - Just thought I'd post a little blurb apologizing for my lack of consistancy regarding my former rash of postings. I guess perhaps it's due to the recent 'change of the guard' in Congress that has caused me a sense of worry that exceeds my drive to rationally deliberate the issues currently existing in America today. I mean, let's be honest folks...I don't recall, at ANY point in time, whereas it was an issue for the new Speaker of the House - Boehner, to regard the term length of the President and Health Care Reform that's been over a decade in the making...as an issue unto which the majority of the population has agreed that:
  1. The term limit is derived via the People...not Congress.
  2. A Health Care Reform that has been over 10 years in the making...was already well known, established and worked on BY Congress regarding the issues afflicting our current medical health care in the United States.
 - I remember hearing once that 'memories are short'...apparently, that was an understatement because lately SOME people have a hard time remembering what they ate for breakfast this morning. Don't keep your minds teethered to what other people insist you believe, America...you must free your minds, research the FACTS and make RATIONAL decisions. I know I insisted upon this...I can only hope those whom have been elected are being called right now by the People who elected them and are encouraging them to do that which is BEST for America, the Constitution and the People for whom it represents...

"Too big to fail"...err, what?

Howdy folks!

 - I had initially thought that the dealings with foreign countries regarded the acquisition of resources currently not available (or in short supply - see Logging Industry for more details regarding that). I, personally, thought it was moronic when I discovered that some corporations outsourced production and manufacturing (and in some cases, services) to foreign countries. Look, outsourcing jobs to a foreign country is nothing but a "lose-lose" scenario as it not only deprives an American thier job, it also prevents the finished product from being puchased (because that same American you laid off, in order to acquire cheap labor abroad, doesn't have any money to buy YOUR finished product). How corporations managed to ignore this glaringly obvious fallacy in reasoning...I do not know. I would have thought that when they had to literally pay out twice for the same thing (the production in a foriegn country and shipping to America) would've caused some neuron firing, but I digress. Of course, no Chinese are going to buy the products they make...they're well aware of how they make them and it's not something I'd regard as 'high quality' (lead painted toys, anyone?).

 - This is ultimately, once again, the fault of the American consumer who chooses to be blissfully unaware of the items they buy because they're too concerned about themselves...I, too, share that blame because I naively trusted the corporations to have America's best interests at heart: I...like so many others, were wrong. Now we have what I call affectionately 'the hemmoraging of the American Dream' as corporations (actually, it's really just the President and/or Head of the Board of Trustees) seek to increase thier own profit margin, stocks and IRA's so they can kick it in the Bahamas until thier final days. What's been the resounding message most corporations have stated...

 - "Eff America"

 - What's the solution?...try your best to ONLY buy that which is made in America (...and I don't mean just because it's got a 'Made in America' sticker on it - peel back that sticker and see if it's actually made in America...instead of Taiwan, China, etc...). Insist that your retailers provide American goods and services...boycott products (...even retailers if you must) and send a clear message to these corporations that you're simply not going to support selling America off to the highest bidder. Take any/all money out off the stock market from companies outsourcing, it is no longer representing and adequate model pertaining to the actual economy and they're certainly not supporting American interests. Start establishing working business models regarding business that's not sponsored by banks, get back to grass roots production...this won't be an easy task - but Thomas Edison didn't make the light-bulb on the first try either (...it's was closer to about the 1,000th time).
 - If we start working together, for America, by America and learn from these mistakes we've made...I think we got a decent shot at pulling out of this corporate sponsored mess. I like those odds a lot better then clinging onto the already proven outdated and defficient business models currently existing. Here's where it pays off to be an American - this is Free Market where unto the victor goes the spoils: this is how the younger generation, with younger minds and new ideals and dreams...save the old senile grandparent from crossing the road during oncoming traffic...at least, I hope they do. To the new millenium, I rest my hopes.
 - Why pull out stocks from companies that are doing so well if thier stocks are rising even though they're employing a workforce abroad? Real simple...if you have stocks in a corporation that utilizies foreign manufacturing is simply sponsoring those corporaitions in continuing thier production (...meaning, those jobs are going to STAY over there). Even if you don't buy thier products, investing in thier corporation SPONSORS this manner of production/services - why do that when doing so keeps Americans unemployed, new American businesses inhibited and our economy weakened? For a share in a corporation whose products cannot even be afforded by the American citizen?...seriously?...you want to get rich that badly? How Unamerican can you get?...about the only worse thing you can do is moving out of America entirely in order to no longer pay State/Federal taxes as well. 'Nuff said on that...

 - Regarding Government intervention in business?...onto that regard, I will have to admit, was a success regarding GM (so far). GM's business model was able to be downsized and restructured turning it from a certain-to-fail corporation to one that has a fighting chance at survival. It was a costly venture to engage in, but it kept an American Car Company in America (...an effort I do not expect to see the Government repeat - honestly, I find it a sad day when Americans have to be shown how to run a business by our own government...that's a darn pity). So what was GM's problem?
- The problems with GM was the entire business model - it was virtually non-existant derived from outmoded agendas that were causing more cost/unit disparity then the company could afford (...foreign competition was not even addressed...O.o ). Reducing the hourly worker salary from $23 to $17/hr was a good start (no offense, folks...but making over 30k gross/year is NOT something to complain about - period). Next was the termination of the origonal retirement package that was the main cause of a majority of the corporation's woes. There still is retirement benifits with GM, but not the sheer extravegance that the corporation simply could not sustain.
- The CEO, of course, was replace...which was an obvious neccessity because if a CEO cannot direct thier corporation to an ever changing and fluctuating economy - what good are they? Finally, sponsoring motivation and innovation in grass roots meetings which spawned the designs of hybrids and fuel efficient model vehicles that can NOW give foreign competition a run for thier money.
- Once GM is clear of bankruptcy protection...I think we'll have an American company that has been proven to show that even something as unwieldy as a corporation can adapt to the fluctuating market...there should be no reason FOR a corporation to fail. My only regret is that it took Our Government, instead of the ingenuity and drive of the People, to make this happen...in America, it takes guts, bold moves and even the ability to take a loss to make it happen - welcome to the free market. The Government should not EVER have to show a corporation how to work...again...ever (...at least it better not in my lifetime).

- The only thing I'm dissappointed regarding this is that some of the manufacturing is done in Canada. It would be nice to see an enterprising American to create a sustainable, flexible business model regarding manufacturing to give our foreign competitors (and neighbors) a run for THIER money and provide an equal, if not superior, manufacturing provision. THAT is what America's about, ladies and gentlemen - ingenuity, conviction, drive, the will to and ability to change, adaptation...even settling for less then previous to get (and keep) QUALITY workmanship...in America. CEO's from corporations who have outsourced - you need to learn this. It is why I will not be supporting your companies...because your idea of adaption, is to make Americans unemployed - good luck to you.

 - Banks on the other hand?...pffft, they can tank - entirely. If banking corporations are in the red then it's clear that they have absolutely no idea what they are doing and DESERVE to fail. How can you mess up addition and subtraction? No..., there's restructuring a manufacturing corporation and then there's having to send people back to elementary school...I draw the line with basic education. Seriously, Goldman-Sachs...you should've never been bailed-out in the first place. Hope the Bahamas were nice this year...it's a pity you got away with it and don't share a room with Bernie Madoff, cretins.

A Patriot's Lament

A Patriot's Lament (I Take The Blame)

I take the blame...,
In a Nation where individuals seek to 'pass the buck',
And deny responsibility for thier actions (regardless how extreme),
Regarding wrong-doing and injury to thier fellow countryman,
I take a stand...and say,
I take the blame.

I take the blame,
When corporations accept foreign currencies,
For outsourcing jobs to facilitate thier own profit margins,
And seek government aid to thier own financial failings,
I refuse to stand behind a straw man - 'corporate personhood',
I take the blame.

I take the blame,
For the unconstitutional laws that have been passed,
Despite Congress whose intent and purpose
Is to insure the Constitution is preserved and maintained,
I failed my own Nation, for those whom I elected, therefore...,
I take the blame.

I take the blame,
For the prejudices that exists and are still allowed to foster,
And for not educating my fellow countryman's discrimination,
And in neglecting the Constitution for not understanding,
"Seperation of Church and State", I KNOW who is at fault,
I take the blame.

I take the blame,
For being too lazy and not becoming more involved,
In the very government which is decreed to be regulated,
For the People, Of the People, BY THE PEOPLE,
In choosing not to monitor Our Government more closely,
I take the blame.

Let no other take my place,
For if just one other seeks to be shamed,
Let them speak from thier mouth in thier own way,
This is to my eternal shame, a Patriot's lament,
For not caring about my kin, countryman and nation,
I take the blame.

The Political Party "Smokescreen"...

So here's what we got...,

 - The House of Representatives is now predominantely Republican, but the Democrats still have the Senate. What does this mean for America?...does the interior decoration of the House get changed to a primarily red colour?...do donkey motiffs get replaced with elephants?...some believe that it will bring conservatism back into Our Government whereas a liberal agenda was taking the forefront. Really?...I thought there were repubicans IN the House for the past two years...O.o Maybe we need to take a closer look at what all these parties mean...

Republican: An advocate of a republic, a form of government that is not a monarchy or dictatorship, and is generally associated with the rule of law.
Democrat: An advocate of a democracy, a form of government where power is derived from the people, either by direct referendum or by means of elected representatives of the people.

 - Hmm...okay, well...one's against a monarchy and/or dictatorship and the other...well, is kinda for the same darn thing (government derived by the people). Okay, no worries...one seems to be focused on laws whilst the other seems to focus on individual representation - both are good, not too sure why there's a difference. Perhaps we need to look a bit further:

Conservative: is a political and social philosophy that promotes the maintenance of traditional institutions and supports, at the most, minimal and gradual change in society.

Liberal: is a political and social philosophy that promotes the importance of individual liberty and equal rights.
 - Odd, it kind of sounds like they're both talking about the same thing...but in different ways (kind of using different adjectives to describe the same object. Just like one person calling a pipe 'skinny' and another person says it's 'long' doesn't change the fact that it's a 'long, skinny pipe'. Regardless of political affiliation...we all want our rights protected, and I believe, in regarding my fellow countrymen - thier equal, unalienable rights. So is there a difference?...and if so, why?
 - There's a series of political party combinations that exist in Our Nation today...there's liberal republican, conservative democrat...I've even heard of a liberal conservative (?!). Even new ones are cropping up...such as the progressive libertarian:

Progressive: An advocate of a form of goverment that promotes changes or reform through governmental action.

Libertarian: is a political and social philosophy that promotes individual liberty, especially freedom of thought and action.
 - Okay, I can understand that - it even says that under Article V of the United States Constitution:
"The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution..."
 - I'm not even too sure why there's even a new political party being addressed...directly (and indirectly) they're ALL talking about the same blasted thing! Personal freedom, equal protection under the law and limited government - EVERY American citizen wants these things, every single person. So...why are there political parties at all?

 - Don't be fooled...

 - This has absolutely NOTHING to do with being liberal, conservative, libertarian, republican, democratic or even tea-partier...stay focused. This has absolutely EVERYTHING to do with the issues at hand...and these issues affect EVERYONE, regardless of the 'political smokescreen'. Perhaps even as far back as the 'Industrial Era', politics has gravely shifted towards the surreal and America is finally waking up to the realizations that there's been an undisclosed party present which has been working behind the scenes...corporate lobbyists, slush funds and foreign investments in political campaigns...
 - "The First American", Benjamin Franklin, at the signing of the Declaration of Independence of 1776 to John Hancock's comment that 'they must all hang together' replied:

"Yes, we must, indeed, all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately."

 - Surely, times have changed...that was over 250+ years ago, who (if anyone) is America seeking independence from? Follow the money regarding the campaign funds regarding the mid-term elections...and you'll have a start towards the answer you seek. When an American willfully an intentfully seeks to deny another citizen of the United States thier rights for thier own personal gain...is a sad day for America, indeed.
 - Back in 1776 there were NO political parties whatsoever, politcal parties are just a discriminatory group's ideaologies and NOTHING MORE. FOCUS on the issues, REAL issues and not a bunch of rhetorical nonsense that does absolutely NOTHING but convolutes the issues and encourages narrow-mindedness. Refuse to have YOUR mind teethered by myopic dogma - Our Nation can ill-afford to be steeped in narcissism now. Our Constitution, Our Rights - IN THAT EXACT SAME ORDER, should be the ONLY thing we are concerned about regarding government. Our Nation will stabilize if the aforementioned priorities are acknowledged and accepted as Truth.

A Moment of Zen (...in a coffee shoppe).

It's a beautiful day at the coffee shoppe I'm at...,

- People just freshly from the polls with hopes of thier candidate attaining the superior vote. What's fascinating about this is that we're having...civil discussions regarding issues: the education system, the legal system, corporate laws...and we dont all agree, but we are courteous and respectful and listen to each others point of view.
 - It's a beautiful day in America as far as I can see...because, from where I sit - Americans are willing and able, to talk about the issues that face Our Nation, Our States...Our Districts. My hope has been restored in regarding the fundamental basis unto which Our Government is derived...we, the People, are talking to each other...

 - ...and that's a good thing.

 - It doesn't take much, to stand up on your own and make your opinions heard...it's called voting. I hope that each and every citizen (or legal immigrant that is allowed) of the United States takes PRIDE in Our Nation, takes PRIDE in Our States, Our Districts...and votes. No matter who is running (...EVEN...if it means voting for the 'lesser of two evils')...we, The PEOPLE, decide how things are run in THIS Nation...called the United States of America.
 - Be well, America...God bless - vote wisely and understand...however this day pans out, it is we, the People, that set the course. Be proud - I AM.

Lobbyists, Advocates and Bribes - Oh MY!

We're going to get dirty today folks...,

Lobbying is a form of advocacy with the intention of influencing decisions made by legislators and officials in the government by individuals, other legislators, constituents, or advocacy groups. A lobbyist is a person who tries to influence legislation on behalf of a special interest or a member of a lobby. Governments often define and regulate organized group lobbying that has become influential.
 - 'Advocacy'?...what's that?...and who are 'advocacy groups'? Glad you asked!
Advocacy by an individual or by an advocacy group normally aim to influence public-policy and resource allocation decisions within political, economic, and social systems and institutions; it may be motivated from moral, ethical or faith principles or simply to protect an asset of interest. Advocacy can include many activities that a person or organization undertakes including media campaigns, public speaking, commissioning and publishing research or poll or the 'filing of friend of the court briefs'.
 - Yeah, anyone else get confused by those two?...they seem actually mutually exclusive instead of meaning the same thing. Lobbyists seek to intercede legislature (...that means Congress) while Advocates seem more like public awareness groups for people in your community (...kind of like Jehovah's Witnesses). Technically, lobbyists are the advocates in Congress even though it's on the basis of the Congressman's stance ON issues that...well, kind of gets him/her elected...in the...first...place. Sooo...why are there lobbyists?...and what are they doing hassling Congress? Let's look a little deeper into this, shall we?
Lobby groups may concentrate their efforts on the legislatures, where laws are created, but may also use the judicial branch to advance their causes. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, for example, filed suits in state and federal courts in the 1950s to challenge segregation laws. Their efforts resulted in the Supreme Court declaring such laws unconstitutional.
 - Well...score one for lobbyists, eh? Still, I'm kind of confused...are we to believe that PURELY on the intercession of lobbyists that segregation was ruled unconstitutional? I thought that was accomplished through social awareness and petitioning...hmmm, petitioning...
The ability of individuals, groups, and corporations to lobby the government is protected by the right to petition in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.
 - A-HA! I knew I'd find the Constitution somewhere in this - let's see what the Constitution says about the 'Right to Petition', shall we? This is covered in the First Amendment:
"Congress shall make no law...abridging...the right...to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
 - Well THAT makes sense...after all, as written in the Declaration of Independence July 4, 1776:
"In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury..."
 - I can see why Our Forefather's would want to insure that the citizenry be reserved the right to petition, especially if it is regarding grievances pertaining to an unconstitutional law...individuals and groups should have the right to be heard. Still, there's something wrong here...looking back at the previous discussion regarding 'petitioning' lies this one statement that just doesn't make sense to me..., "The ability for individuals, groups and corporations to lobby the government...". What the?! WHY do corporations 'need' to lobby Congress...I mean, that's a business, right?...we're not talking about a living, breathing human being here...
Corporate personhood refers to the controversy of what subset of rights afforded under the law to natural persons should also be afforded to corporations as legal persons.
 - *blinks*

 - No, it's not a joke folks...there's people out there in America who honestly think that a BUILDING...a corporate LOGO...err...what?...has the right to vote? Maybe we should ask the question as to whether or not a business is democratic or republican? Is a corporation required to get a "green card" and "work permit" in order to be in the United States?...I don't remember Proctor and Gamble raising issues about 'Freedom of Speech"...what's it's stance on abortion issues? Does anyone else feel like Alice down the rabbit hole?...can a corporation keep and bear arms (...pirates do...are THEY corporations?). What about National Health Care?...when a corporation gets 'sick', is the government required to render aid? Apparently that issue was pressed regarding the car industry and even after the bailout, those agencies still crumbled. Is anyone seeing the absolute ABSURDITY regarding this?
 - Look, folks...no matter how you slice it...a corporation is NOT a living, breathing person - I don't care WHAT those corporate lawyers say. It doesn't take a rocket-scientist to know that even if you take all the workers out of a corporation...it doesn't 'die', because it wasn't freakin' 'ALIVE' in the first place. Cmon, folks...let's get real, this 'corperate personhood' malarky is just a smoke-screen to protect the 'captains of industry' from being targetted for the misgivings they allow thier corporations to create. If there is ANY WAY a corporation can be 'acknowledged' as a 'person' then it's under a default 'power of attorney' which the CEO, President and/or Board of Trustees are ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR...and it is the responsibility of the corporation that these individuals are sincerely seeking to shift over to a 'legally recognized', but ulitmately false identity. This is called a 'straw man' argument which is an informal fallacy based on misrepresentation of an opponent's position (i.e. - "This is how we do things here at Joe's...it's our corporate policy." "No, it's NOT 'our corporate policy'...it's just how the CEO wants things done - stop evading the issue.").
 - How does this tie in with lobbyists (...and why CORPORATE lobbyists need run out of Congress)? Real simple, we got a bunch of clowns running around trying to push legislature to protect thier investments from thier own wrong-doing by insisting that thier errors cannot be arbitrarily be targetted (...it's a 'corporate problem'...not the fault of the execs in charge, it's the fault of the 'economy', 'the market'...anything but them...). Look, lobbying Congress is reserved for PERSONS...not property, but a PERSON'S property. The 'slippery slope' argument (which is also a fallacy of reasoning) states that a relatively small first step inevitably leads to a chain of related events culminating in some significant impact, much like an object given a small push over the edge of a slope sliding all the way to the bottom. Just because your corporation blows chucks and can't sustain itself due to mismanagement of corporate funds and over-extended projected sales does NOT make this a government issue - it just means you're lousy at business, cannot adapt and need to go under so that others (who probably know a great deal more then you) can start up thier own business (...or banks, for that matter). That's why it's called a 'free market'...that means 'free for all' - you want to keep your business afloat then YOU need to make it work!...by maintaining a stable business model that can adapt and advance in accordance to the ever fluctuating market!
 - I read Ann Rand's 'Atlas Shrugged'...I thought it was the biggest joke in the history of literature - pity most business execs swear by it as the example unto which derives the 'importance of business'. Pulease, believing in that rhetoric only makes you narcissistic. Please, go away and take your corrupt 'corporate lobbyists' with you - Congress is for we, the People...not straw men. Weight in, America...abolish 'corporate personhood' and ban 'corporate lobbyists' in Congress? They're not even representing themselves, they're representing a brand name - trees having lobbyists I can understand more then corporations: stop trying to turn our free market system into 'governmentally-sponsored capitalism'. Be the man or woman you professed to be...the one in charge - the leader: a 'captain of industry'. Be proud of your successes...and failures - be willing to 'go down with the ship', be 'the last one overboard' and 'women and children first', remember? Sometime ago, I think we lost our ability ability to be 'noble' and 'civil'...now, we use laws to regulate ourselves - to keep us from being anything, but civil (i.e. - we cannot seem to do anything now without being uncivil). Kind of like myself (knowing I shouldn't), but I'm calling a 'spade' a 'spade' - to the 'Captains of Industry' that exist today, who are trying to "blame the victim": a fake identity 'YOUR corporation'...it's a psychological disorder called:

the fundamental attribution error (also known as correspondence bias or attribution effect) describes the tendency to over-value dispositional or personality-based explanations for the observed behaviors of others while under-valuing situational explanations for those behaviors. The fundamental attribution error is most visible when people explain the behavior of others. It does not explain interpretations of one's own behavior—where situational factors are often taken into consideration. This discrepancy is called the actor-observer bias.
 - The belief that people get what they deserve and deserve what they get, which was first theorized by Melvin Lerner (...no, I don't know him). Attributing failures to dispositional causes rather than situational causes, which are unchangeable and uncontrollable, satisfies our need to believe that the world is fair and we have control over our life (...meaning, 'I was tempted by teh DEBIL!"). We are motivated to see a just world because this reduces our perceived threats, gives us a sense of security, helps us find meaning in difficult and unsettling circumstances, and benefits us psychologically (...in other words, 'playing with 'imaginary friends' is still GOOD for you!'). Unfortunately, the just world hypothesis also results in a tendency for people to blame and disparage victims of a tragedy or an accident, such as victims of rape and domestic abuse to reassure themselves of their insusceptibility to such events (...like some 'religions' who force 'rape victims' to MARRY thier rapist - are you freaking KIDDING me?! OUCH!). People may even go to such extremes as the victim's faults in "past life" to pursue justification for their bad outcome...'cognito ergo sum', eh (...'I think, therefore I am')?

 - O.o

 - Really?...are you serious?! Oh c'mon...show at least a LITTLE backbone, will ya? Like we say down here in Texas, 'Cowboy UP!' (...or 'cowgirl'...look, don't make me 'get all legalesse on you'...). You chose to get on that bull...you sat in that saddle yourself - it's just you and the bull now: no one forced you to ride, and thier ain't a single soul that's ever tried gonna say, 'it's easy'. So, you didn't last long - so what?...you survived, isn't that enough? The punishment for being a coward and not owning up to your own mistakes (in accordance to most military laws) is typically severe - ranging from corporal punishment to the death sentence. Be graceful, be civil and take a bow...that was your turn on stage - maybe you'll do better with your next opportunity. The world's still full of opportunities...and that looks (and sounds) a lot better then you're desperate attempt to hold onto YOUR failure. Is it not through the honour and civility of man that can acknowledge and accept reponsibility for thier own mistakes? Exit stage left, you hypocritical narcissistic...

Why Women SHOULD Vote (...no matter WHO you vote for).

I just looked at my vote tracker...,

 - Not really a whole lot dedicating to the idea of voting...not too sure why. I know a lot people out there think that thier vote doesn't count, but even in the 'electoral college' model - just one vote can tip the favor for a particular candidate...just one. It's not asking a lot for an individual to excercise thier most cherished right that the Constitution provides...perhaps, maybe, it's necessary to talk about those who fought to provide these rights to us. This commentary was provided by a friend of mine, Mary Gomer, who felt the need to reach out and rally women voters...afterall, you should know what it took in order to allow this right to be finally provided unto you as per the 19th Amendment:

"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex".
 - Here is what it took in order to ordain the 19th Amendment (...now I know why President Woodrow Wilson, Our 28th President, won the 'Nobel Peace Prize' - it wasn't because of this).
"This is the story of our Mothers and Grandmothers who lived only 90 years ago. Remember, it was not until 1920 that women were granted the right to go to the polls and vote. The women were innocent and defenseless, but they were jailed nonetheless for picketing the White House, carrying signs asking for the vote. And by the end of the night, they were barely alive. Forty prison guards wielding clubs with their warden's blessing went on a rampage against the 33 women wrongly convicted of 'obstructing sidewalk traffic.'

They beat Lucy Burns, chained her hands to the cell bars above her head and left her hanging for the night, bleeding and gasping for air. They hurled Dora Lewis into a dark cell, smashed her head against an iron bed and knocked her out cold. Her cell mate, Alice Cosu, thought Lewis was dead and suffered a heart attack. Additional affidavits describe the guards grabbing, dragging, beating, choking, slamming, pinching, twisting and kicking the women.

Thus unfolded the 'Night of Terror' on Nov. 15, 1917, when the warden at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia ordered his guards to teach a lesson to the suffragists imprisoned there because they dared to picket Woodrow Wilson's White House for the right to vote. For weeks, the women's only water came from an open pail. Their food--all of it colorless slop--was infested with worms. When one of the leaders, Alice Paul, embarked on a hunger strike, they tied her to a chair, forced a tube down her throat and poured liquid into her until she vomited. She was tortured like this for weeks until word was smuggled out to the press.

So, refresh MY memory. Some women won't vote this year because - Why, exactly? We have carpool duties? We have to get to work? Our vote doesn't matter? It's raining?

The HBO movie, 'Iron Jawed Angels' is a graphic depiction of the battle these women waged so that women could pull the curtain at the polling booth and have their say. What would those women think of the way we use, or don't use, our right to vote? All of us take it for granted now. HBO released the movie on DVD. I wish all history, social studies and government teachers would include the movie in their curriculum. I want it shown on Bunco/Bingo night, too, and anywhere else women gather. I realize this isn't our usual idea of socializing, but we are not voting in the numbers that we should be, and I think a little shock therapy is in order.

It is jarring to watch Woodrow Wilson and his cronies try to persuade a psychiatrist to declare Alice Paul insane so that she could be permanently institutionalized. And it is inspiring to watch the doctor refuse. Alice Paul was strong, he said, and brave. That didn't make her crazy. The doctor admonished the men: 'Courage in women is often mistaken for insanity.'

Please, if you are so inclined, pass this on to all the women you know. We need to get out and vote and use this right that was fought so hard for by these very courageous women. Whether you vote democratic, republican or independent party - remember to vote."
 - I would like to thank Mary Gomer, once more, for bringing this to my attention in her drive to motivate any and all women to excercise thier right unto which thier mothers, grandmothers and perhaps even great grandmothers suffered for...in order to attain - the right to vote.

"Oh Captain, My Captain..."

'Captains of Industry'...pffft,

 - Okay, so...what we have is an unstimulated economical base (the citizens of America) bolstered by companies that don't employ Americans (because migrants are cheaper to employ) along with banks that do not want to provide loans at the risk of a loss that induces such fun things as the mortgage loan collapse and no new businesses being produced as banks made a mad dash to reclaim equity (at the abandonment of reason). Folks, we really have a system currently established that's spelling out disaster...how's this? Real simple - the mere essence in regarding how an individual in America is taught from the very beginning:

  1. The average American is taught that in order to succeed, they need some sort of degree and,
  2. In order to get a college degree, student loans are needed to support the cost of education and,
  3. In a depressed economy where jobs are scarce, a degree does not equate employment.

 - With these three truths, you have individuals graduating from college with degrees in business and finance, but no businesses hiring business execs and banks not seeking to put out loans for the entrepreneur to start a new business. With that knowing...we have a series of unemployed individuals, with college degrees and a ton of debt derived from college loans - ladies and gentlemen, this issue is fubared from the ground up.

- So how does the 'well-educated-but-effectively-unexperienced-and-unskilled-labor-weakling' survive? Well, by changing thier minds, for starters. Look, folks...what needs changed is how we, the People, regard success in America. Forget the Mercedes...we need to down-size our goals. It's no longer a question of gainful employment...it's simply a question of employment, period. That means, America, it's time to get dirty...

- In truth, the farming industry and other unskilled labor fields don't really WANT to hire illegal immigrants. The only reason why this occurs is because the American citizenry simply has too much of a high opinion of themselves. Sure, working like migrants do is brutal, hard and ultimately thankless...but it's a job. You're not going to see a SINGLE employer that uses migrant workers as the base for his business turn down an American offering to work in the same said field because unlike the migrant worker, an American citizen...can't be deported at the drop of a hat (unless the employer is actually a sadist that enjoys not paying the taxes required by the Federal and State - those folks just need shut down, period). You want job security, get a job in the farming/labor industry - you'll have more job security then you ever thought possible, with one exception:

YOU HAVE TO WORK.
- You're going to have to be willing to compete with migrant workers (some who are not even LEGAL to be in Our Country to begin with) and prove to your employer that you are JUST as valued and able as a non-citizen of America. Some people (especially those fresh out of college) are incapable of this...thier work ethic simply does not include unskilled labor and thier mentallity is not derived to support the concept of actually doing the work unto which the migrant worker is more then willing to provide.

- We have to nuture THAT mentallity BACK into the American populace, unskilled labor is what Our Country was/is/will ALWAYS be built upon. Instead of hoping for bank bailouts and government support...we need to be willing to work FOR America. Forget the college degree, drop out of that convoluted scam - some of the most educated and intelligent individuals in America...never went to college. A college degree these days proves NOTHING except that you were willing and able to learn how to shoulder an erroneous amount of debt on your shoulders and you got the documentation to PROVE it. Mules carry a great deal of weight, too, but it doesn't mean they're intelligent and they certainly don't boast about it. If you really want to learn - educate yourself, you'll be better off for it because when someone who's never been to college ends up knowing more then a college grad  - THAT'S a pure example of 'American Know-How'.

- The mere idea of being able to work in the base industries that is the platform unto which the entirity of American economics is derived is the most Patriotic thing ANY American citizen can do. I suggest launching a campaign to get Americans BACK into the fields of America, BACK into the construction and trades of American - get America BACK into America! Right now, illegal migrants are MORE American...then Americans and the migrant worker is sending the American dollar to thier families who don't live in America. So there you have it...the 'Hemmoraging of the American Dream'.

 - What's the clot?...reinfusing Americans BACK into the labor field that should've never been taken over by migrant workers in the first place. Get some American Pride in you, college-boy, there's a whole FIELD of opportunity that will reward YOU for the fruits of YOUR labors. Instead of sitting at home, feeling sorry for yourself with that college degree in your sweaty little mitts as you watch your unemployment benefits dwindle away - YOU can actually go to work (right now, actually) and do your part in providing for your fellow American AND (...unlike the slaves), YOU'LL actually get paid for it. On top of that, the labor industry provides a darn fine workout, you won't even need to go to a gym in order to lose weight - you'll be in fit form just by going to work: how's THAT for a job benifit? Where do 'I' sign up? Right here for starters:
 - Stop making excuses, America, and start going back to work...just because you got suckered into the debt-scam does NOT absolve you of being a responsible citizen of the United States of America. We have a duty unto this Great Nation and I cannot imagine a more dedicated role as the unsung heroes of Our Great Nation have done for generations - the American Farmer. Be well, God bless...now go to work, for AMERICA.

'The Free Market': The Hemmoraging of the 'American Dream'.

MONEY!...,

 - Okay, now that I got everyone's attention. *grins* Howdy folks, today we're going to go down yet another road that's often regarded as 'taboo'...the free market. Look, I'm no economist...but I don't think it requires a degree from Harvard University to understand the basic principles regarding 'Supply and Demand'. That's rather intuitive in it's own right, but just in case someone's not clear - let's take a look at that fundamental block that drives our economy:

SUPPLY AND DEMAND

 - Wow, I looked this up on wikipedia.org and got a whole page of junk...no, seriously, it sounded like legalesse. Okay, let me go ahead and give you the layman version (because even I didn't understand that tripe). Look, it's real simple...in order to attain any sustainable business model, you need two things:
  1. Supply: a commodity and/or service,
  2. Demand: the need thereof.
 - Technically, the essence of any business is founded upon those two empirical truths. You simply cannot supply a product that no one has a demand for, just like the futility of shopping for a good and/or service that doesn't exist (...on that account, you'll have to be an entrepreneur and do it yourself). This economic model establishes the method unto which pricing for supplies/services can be achieved. A commodity/service that is low in cost to establish (manufacturing/shipping - an intrinsic part of supply), but in high demand leaves a great deal of flexibility to regulate price (...you could set the price as low, or as high as you want since the demand for the product/service will, in theory, always be there).

 - Natural grown foods is one example of an easy to produce commodity that is in high demand - let's face it folks, everyone needs to eat...the demand will always be there. It is because of this understanding that prices regarding food commodities have maintained a respectable level...afterall, despite the effort it takes to produce a head of lettuce, the overall cost is fairly modest for the quantity rendered. With that, there's no real need to throw an outrageous price out on the market since all you need is to cover manufacturing costs. The price of growing, packing and shipping is added to the base price you're expecting to see paid per unit sold to the retailer (like Walmart...unless you drive to a farmers market and sell it yourself) who purchases your goods for resale (at a MUCH higher price...or if you're selling it yourself - whatever price you feel comfortable gouging your buyers regarding thusly). Since you want to target the largest demographic area a possible regarding your product/service (or attract as many clients as possible), selling at a low price intrinsically attains the largest amount of buyers. More buyers = more profit. Often called the 'farmers market', this is (beyond a shadow of a doubt) the most stable market...the demand will die out when people stop eating (i.e. - never). About the only thing that affects the 'farmer's market', of course, is nature itself - no rain = no crops = bad year. An irrigation system for innumerous hectacres is EXPENSIVE - most farmers who have invested in these irrigation systems probably took out a bank loan (much to the banker's glee and the farmer's woe). Pesticides are also not cheap resulting an even greater cost/unit disparity...one bad year can cripple a farmer (and leave them in debt to banks for a long...long...time).

 - Of course, not all seek to support that type of business ethic and desire to make the most profit  from each unit sold (regardless if it's easily made) since it's the demand that's driving the market. With that includes all the fun loving electronic gadgets you see flooding the telly with commercials offering the next step in technological wizardry. Though complex in producing, if the overall cost of manufacturing is low and the demand is high...then you can set an exorbitant price and generally will attain an estimable payout. Other examples of this particular business model (often called 'luxuries') are pretty much anything that does absolutely nothing to sustain life like computers and cell phones. Maintaining a profit regarding these commodities is not difficult UNLESS the demand dies out...which is a risk regarding all business models, but affects this one the most significantly. Once a demand for these particular products/services dies out (especially if a better model/service is provided) then you'll have to do better and upgrade your product and/or service or lose your payroll to the open market. Always stay aware of your competition around you and never disregarding improving your product/service - your 'friendly' open market is absolutely striving to upstage you. This is regarded as a 'seller's market' as the cost/unit is low, but the price is inflated rediculously because the buyer simply doesn't care how much it costs - they just want one. This business model is exceedingly flexible since when demand drops off, the price can be adjusted accordingly to maintain marketable interest while researching/producing the latest upgrade (or retire...really, you made a killing - retire in style).

 - Interesting, but what about hard to produce products/services...where do they sit regarding this? Well, products that are hard (and expensive) to produce will intrinsically sell for a much higher price. However, remember...all that's REALLY needed is to cover the base cost of production and shipping and the rest of the cost per unit is pure profit. Complex, hard to produce and costly products suffer the worst in an open market (regardless of demand) because the danger of producing too many will almost always force the manufacturer of said product/service to take a loss should the demand die out...a BIG loss. Examples of high cost, low demand products are...hate to say it, the car industry. Glutting the market with expensive to produce products does NOT guarantee profit...as a matter of fact, producing an excessive amount with the hopes that the market for said product will meet the supply is an excercise in sheer folly. The massive amount of vehicles produced on a yearly basis by the car industries is moronic - there simply is not enough people turning in thier older (but still functioning) cars for a new one. The failure of the car industry (due to exorbitant prices/unit) caused a majority of the car industries to crumble underneath thier own weight of projected sales which were never met (plus the fact that they never adjusted the price to meet the demands...it really doesn't cost over $10,000 to make a car these days...). This is what happens when someone pretends to have control over a 'buyer's market' (which is essentially what the car industry is, regardless of the manufacturer's ego...it's the buyer who sets the price). Buyers won't buy if they don't like the price and producing an excess to a market that's not buying = bankruptcy. Since most modern cars are also built to breakdown...this is also an example of an educated market vs. mass-produced junk (a.k.a. - 'quantity vs. quality').

 - You can even apply this business model to services such as utilities (gas and electric), arts and entertainment (movies and theater). Even illicit goods and trades (escourt services, drugs and firearms) are influenced regarding the basis of supply and demand (the 'black market' merely slays the open market due to the seller having an 'unlimited supply' at little to no cost to 'manufacture' so selling is almost always pure profit regarding stolen goods). These industries (utility, entertainment, etc) are also not required for survival, but is entirely a sellers market which allows the seller to set the price at erroneously high prices...people will pay because of the exceedingly high demand. People are desperate for a distraction in thier lives just as much as they want utilities provided for them (instead of learning how to subsist in the wilds) which is why these industries are doing so well (...and crime, obviously, pays). Knowing what market you seek to become involved in goes a long way in determining how well you will do (...no, not the stock market...insider trading ruined that 'industry' for those outside the loop - the stock exchange now is an excercise based on masochism. Ah well, all the 'stock market' was is 'legalized gambling' anyways...no loss).

 - So what does all this mean and why is the economy doing so poorly? Glad you asked...you see, the most IMPORTANT thing to any standing market is the buyer. ANY market needs buyers...you simply cannot have a product or service if there's no one demanding such services (please see the tanking of the American car industry above for example...or the housing industry). Buyers, quite obviously, need money...so the REAL question is why don't the buyers have money? Clearly there's still a demand out there because no one's stopped buying FOOD...but everything else has taken a hit, why? Well, conserving expenditures has a dramatic effect on the open market during a recession...as a matter of fact, in not stimulating the economy by recirculating monies back INTO the open market turns a reccession INTO a depression as individuals, striving to hold onto their wealth, refuse to stimulate the economy causing the market to slow to an almost paralyzing crawl. However, there's another factor playing into this that isn't addressed...you see, there's a lot of people looking for jobs - there used to be jobs, where did they go?

 - Remember that one person you called regarding your delayed payment on your credit card because you lost your job as a 'customer service representative' for that very same credit card company?...were you wondering why they were hard to understand? Yep, there's your answer...your job just got OUTSOURCED to another country so that your FORMER employer could get more for his invested dollar for the services YOU were already providing. Nice, eh?...but wait, there's more...major car industries have also relocatted out of the United States to set up manufacturing plants in other countries just so they could produce products at a cheaper rate and sell it back to America at the regular price! Neato, huh? Even farming and general labor jobs are unavailable due to contractors (and farmers) seeking to save a buck by employing immigrants (instead of able-bodied Americans) because immigrants (mostly illegal immigrants) work for a WHOLE LOT LESS then Americans (plus, you don't have need to pay for health care, worry about getting sued in case of an injury, work insane hours and can terminate with no worry of redress! As a matter of fact, you can threaten with deportation and they'll leap through flaming hoops just to please you). Wow! All this cheap labor!...it's a win-win situation, right? Wrong, you moron...

 - You see, this is what happens when you hire business execs with a college degree and absolutely no experience (...or intelligence in general, for that matter) regarding the open market. Almost every single major business industry that has TANKED has been guilty of this undeniable mistake...regardless of whether or not the product/service is in demand - if your clientelle cannot afford to BUY it (because they're unemployed) then YOUR business is going to crash...hard. Paranoid conservation coupled together with a record high unemployment rate (due to outsourcing of U.S. jobs) and the hiring of cheap migrant labor has painted the  American citizenry into a corner. Buying American products is almost as impossible as finding gainful employment because everything is now made somewhere else and instead of working to purchase YOUR commodities and services...America is unemployed. Banks reluctant to grant loans delivers an even further blow to the economy by preventing new businesses to start...conservation during a recession, outsourcing jobs during a reccession and employing migrants who send the money they make to foreign countries (instead of back into the market)...KILLS THE FREAKING ECONOMY! Is any of this getting through, business execs?

 - YOU'RE DESIRE TO MAXIMIZE PROFITS JUST KILLED THE AMERICAN DREAM!

 - Really, you don't need a degree to comprehend economics...

 - ...just a freakin' brain - demand is superfluous without the means to acquire the supply, putting an American on the unemployment line is the best way to destroy the free market system. Get wise, business execs...start bringing the jobs back home (...or start sponsoring support for new jobs in America - might as well use all that money you 'saved', genius).

"Seperation of Church and State..."

Religion...,

 - Look...America, regarding the existance of a 'soul', 'God' and 'the afterlife' - these are all intrinsic PERSONAL issues unto which everyone may (or may not) consider during thier own lifetime. These matters, be it as they may, are NON-ISSUES which have absolutely NO place...save for the establishments of religion where we may excercise our religion freely. Moreover, as a Deist, I neither favor nor discredit ANY one person's beliefs because I respect what Our Founding Forefathers decreed under the Bill of Rights' First Amendment back on September 17, 1787:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

 - It was believed, by Our Forefathers, that this would be enough and that future generations would understand that none shall be condemned regarding thier own faith and/or religion. Afterall, it was due to the such moments in Colonial American History like the 'Salem Witch Trials' of 1692 which the First Amendment was derived (...not to mention 'the Crusades' of the 14th - 15th Century in Europe, but I digress). Alas, such was not the case as individuals STILL saught to condemn others regarding thier religion. Since it wasn't enough to be told what everyone COULD do...we had to amend the Constitution to let everyone know what they COULDN'T do - hence, the 14th Amendment of July 9, 1868:

"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws".

 - Religion has it's place in everyone's life...including those who do not prescribe to any particular religion (agnostics) or no religion at all (athiests). Regardless of religious preference, it neither enhances nor detracts from another human being...from being a human being, and unto these citizens of the United States of America - thier unalienable rights. It is perfectly alright for anyone to believe whatever it is they choose to believe...it is NOT alright for someone to condemn another for no other reason then thier own particular religion. It is respecting those grounds that I stand firmly AGAINST anyone seeking to:
  1. Make religion an issue (which is Unconstitutional - 1st Amendment),
  2. Make religion a part of Local/State/Federal function (which is Unconstitutional - 14th Amendment.
 - Now with that said, here are the NON-ISSUES:
  • Religion is being DISCRIMINATED against by not being TAUGHT in public schools.
This is misleading and false - the concept of religion not being taught in schools is derived from individuals saying thier particular religion is not being taught. In order to teach religion in public schools...it would have to be a broad spectrum curriculum covering ALL religions, not just a specific religion. Parents wishing to have thier children to be taught theology in general can request to have World Theology as an extra-curricular course elective provided by your independent school districts. If these parent wish to have thier children learn thier own particular religion then take them to church - that's what the Constitution provides churches for so that individuals seeking answers regarding a particular religion know where to go. Unless it's a broad, all-enclusive curriculum teaching the basics of all religions in general...then you are requesting to have a particular religion taught which is not the function of ANY State/Federal system - including public schools.
  • Religion is being DISCRIMINATED against by not allowing PRAYER in school.
This is also misleading and false - when I went to public school I was not restricted from prayer. It wasn't due to the school being more tolerant, I simply did not detract from the allotted time provided by the State and Federal government (...in order to pray for success on my SAT). What IS being banned is communal prayer of the entire student body, because not everyone believes in what secular religion is being ordained and, hence, inviolates the 14th Amendment. Communal prayer is also banned on the grounds of using the allotted time provided by State/Federal government derived for religion, not education (which also inviolates the 14th Amendment as not all students prescribe to a particular faith/belief). It is allowed for students to meet off campus (i.e - school property) and pray as long as thier length of prayer does not interrupt thier intent and purpose (i.e. - attend school to learn). Parents can enroll thier children into private schools that support thier particular religion if they wish to have thier children spending time learning about religion (instead of, say...U.S. Government), outside of thier already prescribed establishments of religion.
 - Now here are some points that are REAL ISSUES. These points are derived primarily due to DISCIMINATION derived from individual religions:
  • Students denied attire regarding thier particular faith.
In as much as a State/Federal cannot support a particular religion - it also cannot discriminate AGAINST anyone of a particular religion. That means, students can wear whatever emblem they wish that supports thier religion (as long as it does not directly inviolate school dress code - showing up to public school wearing a bikini emblazoned with crosses most likely will inviolate the ISD dress code - please consult your public school, dress codes may vary). The head covering that is worn by secular muslim women is one such example of attire that can be worn in public schools - to force a student to remove said attire and/or reject a student due to such attire is discrimination regarding thier religion. It would be just as discriminatory to tell a student to remove a necklace emblazoned with a cross.
  • Faculty supporting a particular religion, condeming others.

State-sponsored ISD Faculty (teachers, principle, etc) are allowed to wear whatever is appropriate regarding thier religion (see above), what they cannot do is condemn others regarding THIER particular religious attire/religion. This is one of such issues that has NOT been addressed and is still an issue within public schools today. You will find some public schools in various States that STILL have emblems regarding secular religion adorning thier walls, a faculty that stanchly (almost militantly) condones a particular religion and even condemns student faculty regarding thier own particular religion. Under NO circumstance are tax dollars to be spent regarding the establishment of a religion - that includes faculty seeking to enforce thier particular brand of religion. Any faculty member seeking to do so are discriminatory and are better off volunteering thier time at a private school that supports thier particular religion then teaching in public schools.
  • Faculty not preventing discrimination amongst students.
This is the worst...which stems from an apathetic faculty (or supportive faculty) where religion is not refrained from in public schools amongst the student body. This has been the PREMIER reason behind the 'bullying' you may have already heard in the news as of late...that lead to a string of suicides. Even though it will be decreed that what I am posting is not based on fact...how can the intolerance of another person's religion (...or another person PERIOD) occur if a faculty is insuring the safety and protection of the student body they are seeking to educate. This is a glaring failure on behalf of several States regarding thier ISDs (Independent School Districts) and I believe launching an internal investigation regarding these public schools needs enacted. If a school faculty is incapable of ensuring the safety of the citizenry's children who pay thier salaries via taxes...then they should NOT be a part of that school's faculty. Religious intolerance has NO place in public schools - even amongst the student body. The faculty in SOME public schools need to start doing thier State-Appointed JOBS.
 - Still feel the need to include Religion along with Government sponsored agencies? Don't get me started on the 'banned book list' that some schools elect to follow - this list is derived from a particular religion. One of the books on that list: Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, a story based on the dangers...of banning books. Anyone can go to whatever church sponsoring any religion they wish AND be free to discuss thier religion WITHOUT fear of oppression (...unless you're a Branch Davidian in Texas). It's possible to put your religion beliefs to the press and publish your religion en masse. You can even wear emblems of your religion openly without fear of being regarded as a lesser because of your said religion - such discrimination is actually UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Why do people believe that thier religion is being discriminated against?...in America, you have the most open system of government regarding ANY religion. The only 'discrimination' that's occuring, was the foundation that Our Forefathers created over 150 years ago...are we really taking THIS long follow directions? Weight in, folks...what do YOU think?

They can't Vote! They're just IMMIGRANTS!

Wow...,

 - Here's an issue I wasn't expecting to see crop up: Immigrants and the Right to Vote? Alright, America...pull up a chair, sit back and pour yourself a cup o' joe. We're going to look into the actually priviledges and rights - of immigrants who are going through the naturalization process (as opposed to those who don't and, by default, SHOULD be deported...). The United States Citizen and Immigration Services herefore referred to by it's officially recognized acronym -  USCIS, used to be the United States Department of Immigration and Naturalization Services (...or INS, for short). This bureau was filtered out of the Department of Justice and merged with the newly formed Department of Homeland Security shortly after 9/11. An interesting shift of political application regarding Immigrants seeking to becoming an official United States citizen...it's no longer a matter of 'social justice', it's a matter of 'homeland security'? I could go into that...but I digress, at any rate - the USCIS Handbook says THIS regarding what's expected and what an Immigrant who's seeking naturalization can and cannot do:

 
As a permanent resident, you have the right to:
• Live and work permanently anywhere in the U.S.
• Apply to become a U.S. citizen once you are eligible.
• Request visas for your husband or wife and unmarried children to live in the U.S.
• Get Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, and Medicare benefits, if you are eligible.
• Own property in the U.S.
• Apply for a driver’s license in your state or territory.
• Leave and return to the U.S. under certain conditions.
• Attend public school and college.
• Join certain branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.
• Purchase or own a firearm, as long as there are no state or local restrictions saying you can’t. As a permanent resident, it is your responsibility to:
• Obey all federal, state, and local laws.
• Pay federal, state, and local income taxes.
• Register with the Selective Service (U.S. Armed Forces), if you are a male between ages 18 and 26.
• Maintain your immigration status.
• Carry proof of your permanent resident status at all times.
• Change your address online or provide it in writing to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) within 10 days of each time you move.
 - This is what's expected out of the immigrants that come to the United States without a Federal sponsored Visa - this is what it means to get a 'green card'. Can they vote? It doesn't say, right?...actually, it does...way in the back when it gives the reason to become a US citizen. The USCIS Hanndbook states:

Only citizens can vote in federal elections. Most states also restrict the right to vote, in most
elections, to U.S. citizens.
 - Hmm, that's kind of vague...perusing the NSCIS website, we come up with this:
One of the most important privileges of democracy in the United States of America is the right to participate in choosing elected officials through voting in elections. There are many different types of elections in the United States, such as federal elections, state elections or local elections. Only U.S. citizens can vote in federal elections. Registering to vote or voting in a federal election is a crime if you are not a U.S. citizen.  Non-U.S. citizens, including permanent residents (green card holders), who vote, or register to vote, in a federal election also can be denied naturalization and/or removed (deported) from the United States.
There are very few jurisdictions where a non-U.S. citizen may vote in a local election.  However, this web site does not provide information regarding voting qualifications for state and local elections.  You can obtain information regarding voting qualifications in local elections from your local voting authority.  It is important to remember that even if you are allowed to vote in a local election, you are not eligible to vote in a federal election if you are not a U.S. citizen, nor in any other election that requires you to be a U.S. citizen.
 - Wow, that's really wordy and says...ummm...well, it says they can't vote for FEDERAL elections (such as voting for the President, just like in the handbook), but State and Local elections are kinda...iffy. It seems to be that it's up to the State to decide soooo depending on how much say YOU want in State and Local legislatures - there's your State of choice. They say you'll have to find out for yourself, but I suppose I'll do my civic duty as a citzen of the United States and provide at least SOME information (after all, without providing any information at all - immigrants are going to be wandering all over the United States). In California, immigrants are provided the right the vote for all State and Local matters (wow!), other States like Arizona and Texas...you're 'green card' doesn't prove anything significant and you have NO voting priviledges what-so-ever (...not even Local elections, just like ILLEGAL immigrants, but they'll be thanking you in advance for you tax money, I guess, by NOT deporting you...yet - groovy, neh?).
 - Anyone else seeing something REALLY wrong with this picture?...I mean (don't get me wrong), but I'm kinda partial to providing equal treatment to ALL immigrants REGARDLESS of where they choose to reside in the United States. Sure, I agree that they shouldn't be handed over Our Nation on a platter, but since they already have the right to own property, pay taxes, attain a driver's liscense and social security cards...doesn't it kind of make sense that immigrants should have SOME say regarding how thier tax money is spent? We're not trying to encourage indentured servitude here...we're seeking to encourage people to:

  1. Want to COME to America (because they got Rights here - especially the Right to Vote) and,
  2. Want to STAY in America for the additional perks and benifits provided through citizenship.
 - So...what do you think, America? Are Immigrants who legally enter the United States worth a voice in Local and State affairs? After all, they're already supporting YOUR State with THIER tax dollars. If you think so, and your State doesn't currently allow immigrants the Right to Vote in State/Local matters maybe you ought to consider giving immigrants an incentive to move to your State by offering them the Right to Vote in said affairs. Population also equates to voting strength when it comes to your State's alloted Electoral Votes and even IF they throw out the Electoral College system (which they should)...larger population = more seats in the House of Representatives (which make a significant impact in Congress). This is a win-win situation here, America. Immigrants win by having a voice, States win by providing such Rights to immigrants increasing YOUR State's influence in Congress (not to mention the increase in tax revenue per resident in State). Treating your fellow human being LIKE a human being goes a long way and citizens of your State can do even better by ASSISTING immigrants into becoming Citizens! Help them learn English, U.S. History and Government, immigrants are not indentured servants and slavery's been abolished for almost 150 years - make a change, America...get involved.
 - Food for thought, America...let's turn an illegal immigrant problem into a permenant resident resolution, and then into a citizen solution. Like I said before, I'd rather have an Immigrant voting instead of an Illegal Immigrant working, but in all honesty...I'd rather have another fellow citizen of this Great Nation - The United States of America. Does YOUR State allow Immigrants to Vote?...and if not, should they?...what do you think, America?

Illegal Immigration: Unnaturalization...

This has been a topic as of late...,

 - Yes, I have my own thoughts regarding this too...but before we go too deeply into it, let's first discuss look at the Naturalization Process:

 - If an alien (immigrant) seeks citizenship in the United States, they MUST attain a lawful permenant resident status (i.e. - acquiring a United States Permenant Residency Card a.k.a. "green card"). In order to encourage diversity in America, the Federal goverment also conducts a Diversity Visa Lottery which grants citizens of other countries legal entry into the United States. However, only countries "with low rates of immigration to the United States" are allowed to apply (...so Mexico is clearly off that list). Presently there are two different types of US visas:
  1.  Immigrant Visas - for people seeking to live in the United States and,
  2.  Non-Immigrant Visas - for people coming for limited durations.
 - The former visa has set cap/country which the Department of Immigration and Naturalization Service (which is now known as the Department of Homeland Security) can accurately track via Visa ID number...the latter does not (though, can also be just as easily verify as valid as per ID number). Most non-immigrant visas are for work purposes (which is the ONLY way an immigrant can be legally employed in the United States without acquiring an Employment Authorization Document a.k.a. EAD or 'work permit'. These visas sponsored for work-related purposes are ONLY for fields that require degreed knowledge such as architect, science and medicine - NOT UNSKILLED LABOR), student (for foreign exchange students and/or foreign students attending college in America), family (for visiting relatives in the United States) and tourist visas (for...you know, touring...).
 - So...we have either acquiring a 'green card' or applying for an Immigrant Visa and you're in, right? Not so bad, is it?...so why don't illegal immigrants do this? Well, first of all...the process unto which it takes in order to acquire a 'green card' alone can easily take a FULL YEAR, just to recieve the card...during that entire time period (if the immigrant cannot provide documented proof that they filed for the United States Permenant Residency Card) then they get deported and have to start the process all over again. The same goes for getting EMPLOYED in the United States - in order for an employer to legally hire an immigrant who has yet to become a naturalized citizen of the United States (even if they're going to do something as remedial as unskilled labor) they MUST provide an Employment Authorization Document (i.e. - 'work permit') or they cannot be legally employed in the United States.
 - Still, there's illegal immigrants working in the United States all the time...why is this a problem? It's real simple...it's not the illegal immigrant fault due to insufficient support/assistance regarding naturalization - that is an issue solely dependent upon the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal goverment. Clearly, in order to expediate the process more effeciently, rapidly AND accurately - that particular division of the government needs a LOT more funding and/or more capable leadership. What is the illegal immigrant to do if the system that is derived to provide them with the documentation pertaining to residency and permission to work in the United States drags thier feet? Go broke and starve in a ditch?...of course not - they shack up with a friend in an apartment or relative's house, go to work for anyone willing to pay them and therein lies the heart of the problem:
  1. Relatives/Residential granting immigrants residency without a 'green card'.
  2. Businesses putting immigrants to work without a 'work permit'.
 - This has become an issue due to the fact that there are citizens of the United States willing to violate Federal law in order to provide an immigrant a place to stay and a place to work - ILLEGALLY. How to resolve this?

TAKE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THE RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX AND/OR RELATIVE FOR PROVIDING AN IMMIGRANT A PLACE TO STAY WITHOUT A 'GREEN CARD' AND BUSINESSES THAT PUT TO WORK IMMIGRANTS WITHOUT A 'WORK PERMIT'.
 - I cannot think of any other way to make illegal immigration a non-issue then addressing the source of the problem. Enacting laws that support the aforementioned statement will encourage not only the desire to acquire actual legal proof of residence and right to work - it will discourage citizens of the United States from violating Federal law in one stroke. What apartment complex would consider thinking of allowing illegal immigrants to live therein if they were fined $500-1500/illegal immigrant residing therein PLUS face felony criminal charges/prison for repeated offenses? What business, REGARDLESS of the agency...be it farming, construction, factory, shipping/recieving...even janitorial, would be willing to face a fine of $500-1500/illegal immigrant employed, the suspension/revocation of thier operating liscense PLUS felony criminal charges/prison for repeated offenses? If THIS law got passed by Congress...we'd have Our Nation's bailout right here.
 - Think this is cruel?...think this is 'Unamerican'? What could be MORE 'Unamerican' then being willing to provide someone who is NOT a legal resident of, or having the legal right to visit, a place to stay. What could be MORE 'Unamerican' then putting someone to work that does not even have the legal right to represent themselves if something should happen whilst under your employ...and denying your country the tax due on monies paid for said work? Don't mix sympathy with facts - laws are intentionally being broken in America...and it's the citizenry of the United States that's breaking them. If we are to retain the integrity of Our Nation, it starts with those who seek to undermine the foundation unto which Our Great Nation was formed...we, the People, of the United States of America.
 - Weight in, folks...encourage Congress to pass a law that directly fines/incarcerates individuals willing to give residency/employment to illegal immigrants? What do you think?
